Cathedral Peak stood above the ice of the Tuolumne glaciers. In this photo you can see striations and other glacial features along and below the base of the rock face.

Beyond Cathedral is the Tuolumne Meadow and the expanse of the Yosemite north country, bounded by the Sawtooth Ridge and Matterhorn Peak.
