Weathernotes for Monday, March 18, 2002A dynamically strong, but moisture-starved system brought strong winds, cold temperatures and scattered showers to Southern California yesterday afternoon and evening. Los Angeles (USC) recorded 0.11 inch of rain, bringing the seasonal total (since July 1) to 4.21 inches. This is 8.57 inches below normal. |
Valley locations typically recorded .05 to .1 inch and foothill locations about 0.3 to 0.5 inch. The mountains to the north of the basin recorded more, with Mt. Wilson reporting about 1.0 inch.
