Weathernotes for Sunday, May 4, 2003Yet another very late season Pacific system driven by an upper low with strong jet dynamics resulted in more snow in the Sierra, and precipitation totals of more than one inch throughout much of Southern California. As was the case with our April 15th storm, rainfall totals in the valleys and coastal areas generally ranged from about 1.0-1.5 inches. Orographic enhancement resulted in more precipitation in the foothills and mountains with totals of 3.0 to 4.0 inches common, |
